.

An original and rarely seen J.G Ballard magazine advert; a 6 colour screen-print by Toronto’s Fucci; sculptors Alex J Wood and Julie Cockburn using one subject in wildly different styles; Brooklyn based photographer Ina Jang; powerful photo-work from infamous Baltimore trouble maker John Waters (currently enjoying a career retrospective in the USA) and three vintage stills by film-maker Peter Watkins and more feature from the private collection in their first ever public display.

.

Scott Darby & Matt Faulkner: PRELUDES

Paper Folds is pleased to announce two new artists we are working closely with:

Graphic designer and creative coder Scott Darby is collaborating audio designer and composer Matt Faulkner on a new project PRELUDES

Scott’s austere landscapes and images based on contemporary themes expressed as code perfectly match the electro-organic writing of Nick Sutton who has create 7 ‘Preludes’ for electronics.

Scott has responded to each, and Matt Faulkner is creating a B-Side using the original audio material and altering with his own outstanding production.

The release will consist of an analogue audio and print set in a very limited edition.

SEEK PRAY ADVANCE – Megan Broadmeadow

Nick Sutton is directing a choir for artist Megan Broadmeadow and her several year long project SEEK PRAY ADVANCE

She is currently exhibiting at CGP Gallery, London with reviews from Vice and a live performance in Cardiff planned for the 14th April, and at The Green Man Festival 2018.

Installation at CGP London – part 1 /

We are extremely excited to be working with Megan and sonic artist Matt Faulkner, documenting the process, directing and composing for my ‘Sci-Fi’ choir, and collaborating on an audio/art edition for the culmination in 2019.

Seasons Greetings

Enjoy the holidays and see you in 2018 with solo and group visual art shows already planned for Jamie Rawlings and Dale Mail, new label artist Tatiana Sanches  audio releases, and the production of an audio object for Megan Broadmeadow’s latest project SEEK PRAY ADVANCE

The series moves from a craftsman’s hand holding colourful sugar-stuff and works it way towards a macabre skull created from sugar cubes, the analogy by this time is blunt.

Sugar as a poison is a theme that will be further explored by Nate through his photographs and oil paintings.
